How do I Submit my ACT scores to colleges?

Hello everyone, I'm a junior and just took the ACT. How do I go about sending my ACT scores to colleges? I'm unsure about where to start. Would it be through the ACT website or through the Common App or the colleges' portals?

To send your ACT scores to colleges, you will need to go through the ACT's official website. Here are the steps you will need to follow:

1. First, log in to your ACT account by going to the ACT's official website.

2. Once logged in, navigate to your test dates and scores page.

3. Select "Send Your Scores".

4. You'll then be prompted to search for and select the colleges you'd like to send your scores to.

5. There will also be a small fee associated with sending scores, unless you select your colleges during registration or within the first few days after taking the test. In those instances, you can send up to four score reports for free. After the free reports or if you're sending scores at a later date, there's a fee for each report.

Note that when sending scores, you have to use a four-digit code for each college. These codes are available on the ACT website or you can also find them on the individual colleges’ websites.

The ACT will then send your scores directly to the colleges you've specified. The score reports sent to colleges will include scores from all ACT tests that you have taken, unless you utilize the ACT’s score choice option to select certain scores to send.

Finally, ensure that you're sending your scores in a timely manner, ideally two weeks before the application deadline for the colleges you're applying to, as it can take a while for the scores to get processed and appear on your admissions file. Please note, though, you do not need to send your scores through the Common App or the colleges' portals as scores are sent directly from ACT.
